What Are Lanyards?

by Christopher Burnett on Dec.20, 2009, under Advertising

What is a lanyard? It is simply an item that allows you to secure something so you can have easy access to it, such as an ID card or an event name tag. Commonly, a lanyard can be worn around the neck, but can also be worn on the arm, waist or wrist.

Most lanyards are normally created from a cord; nylon, cotton, or polyester twill. Several different lanyards are created from PVC, satin, denim, fleece or even leather.

There are a few options to attach your item to the lanyard. These include alligator or bulldog clips, swivel hooks (metal or plastic), spring hooks or split rings.

There are so many people that use a lanyard nowadays. Lanyards have become very popular these days. It’s possible as you walk down the street to often be able to say ‘hi’ to so many people if you want and call them by their first name because they are wearing their work identity cards around their necks with their names clearly showing. They become welded almost to their body!

A plastic badge holder is often used to protect the badge from wear and tear. Most companies that sell lanyards usuallyt also sell you all the accessories also such as badge holders & other attachment hardware. If you have security passes one thing you might want to buy for your lanyard is a retractable badge reel. This chord lets the user to scan their ID without needing to remove the lanyard. The cards can be retracted close to their pocket so it won’t swing around the neck. These types of lanyards are very useful in a work environment where there is moving machinery. Entanglement with the moving machinery will be prevented, and so are the accidents that could arise from them. Should this be needed, you can get lanyards with built in plastic safety breakaways.

Lanyards are great for advertising purposes of course. By having it custom printed with a company slogan, name, or logo it will double for an advertising tag and name tag.

You can print on lanyards. The flat ones made out of polyester twill, nylon, or cotton has the necessary flat surface area and the right printable material. It is possible to use three different printing techniques, namely dye sublimation, hot stamping and screen-printing. Hot stamping is the cheapest normally seeing it only uses 1 color. This is suitable for badges used at trade shows or by students. Screen-printing uses colored ink. It also produces a higher quality & longer lasting image in case you need a more durable and better quality finish. Dye sublimation is the most expensive technique, which makes sense seeing it produces the most detailed & longest lasting image.

Corporate Gift Suggestion: Pens

by Abigail Soto on Dec.18, 2009, under Advertising

Pens are small, fairly inexpensive but in respect to using them for gifts they do not get disposed of till they have been fully used, giving them a life of one or two months depending on usage. Because of this versatility they are a perfect gift.

Pen manufacturers would agree that the most popular ink color these days is black ballpoint. If you need advertising exposure, the black ballpoint pen cannot easily be beaten for dollar for dollar advertising and market exposure value. They keep you front of mind with your clients every day when you add your branding or unique company features the pen.

Black ballpens are the most preferred amongst sales people and office workers but blue is next in line in popularity. Odd and interesting colors such as orange or pink can also be used, but are of little usability. They’re best for childrens wear businesses or party-hire companies. After all you are giving a very practical gift so it may be better to stick with blue of black ink.

When it comes to the exterior body of a pen imagination is the only limit. And as long as the pen is still usable practically as a pen, then you would still achieve your exposure goals.

On the pen’s body, you should first focus on company information you want to add, before thinking of the design of the body next. If you do not do this, you may end up with a great physical design that has zero space for the info you want to add. This would completely defeat your advertising purpose.

When it comes to the body of the pen do not go too cheap because a quality feeling pen will be used more by people. Don’t use cheap pen interiors either. We all have had the experience of trying to write with a pen that does not work and throwing it away in frustration. This experience can then leave the person reflecting the quality of the pen on your company which is not good or what you intended.

Good suppliers of corporate gifts should allow you to purchase pens in numbers you need, in addition to the design concept of the pen body and its quality aspects we discussed.

How Corporate Gifts Are Key To The Success Of A Company

by Richard Tan on Sep.09, 2009, under Advertising

The fast evolving practice of offering corporate gifts is not as familiar to people as gifts given by everyone to friends and family. Corporate gifts, unlike gifts to friends and family, are given to clients or employees to convey thankfulness for their association or service.

These gifts are costly objects and they usually do not have any contribution in promoting the offerings of the organization, which means that they do not have any reference to the business. However, at times organizations also give employees and prospective customers promotional items such as pen drives, mouse-pads, key-chains and office utility items that are emblazoned with the company logo.

The gifts to be given by the company should be chosen keeping in mind the needs and desires of the individual for whom the gift is intended. Firms typically like to give personalised and expensive gifts to their clients, but to their workforce they normally give out a moderately expensive, but useful gift.

The impact of the corporate gift on the rapport with a client or an employee depends on how expensive the person perceives the gift to be. Consulting in house lawyers of your company before giving corporate gifts is a good idea, because in some countries the law might not allow it.

Before purchasing corporate gifts you should plan your expense, decide upon the number of gifts to be presented, and try to find good offers for a mass purchase from the dealers. The preparation is more important with respect to employee gifts, even more so if your company is a mid-sized or large entity. It is important to ensure that there are enough gifts to express your gratitude to every deserving employee.

Offering corporate gifts to customers and staff aids in strengthening the professional rapport, and it is a good business practice to adopt. Just keep two things in mind – the law and your budget.

Screen Printing

by Jonathan Sung on Sep.06, 2009, under Advertising

Screen printing is one of the initial methods used in printing process. In this process, the ink or any other printing medium is passed through a screen or ‘mesh’ that has been fixed on a frame, and a stencil has been applied to it. The image that needs to be imprinted is determined from the stencil openings. For the different colors, different screens are prepared and the process is repeated.

The silk screen printing also known as serigraphy is a multiple printing technique that involves the use of stencils in order to transfer the design. The paint is applied on the silk screen and affects the areas that are not blocked by the stencil. Many colors can be applied by using several stencils in a single print. The serigraphy was developed as a commercial medium and is still used by modern artists. The silk screen has been replaced with a polyester material that is widely available and is also cheap as compared with silk material.

Screen painting is the technique developed by the Chinese almost 2000 years back and the screen was made of human hair stretched across a wooden frame. The Japanese developed it further by using the woven silk as mesh and lacquers as stencils. Europe adopted this technique much later as it involved silk which was not available in the Europe.

In the United States, the screen printing was popularized by artist Andy Warhol, he screen printed actress Marilyn Monroe in 1962. A rotary machine was patented by Michael Vasilantone in 1960 to print logos and team information on bowling garments but shortly, started printing on t-shirts. It was soon licensed by many manufactures for screen printing of garments making the rotary garment printing machine as a popular device for screen printing. In the United States, screen printing on garments account for almost half of the screen printing activity.

The screen printing business flourished and became a profitable industry. It was adopted by the artists to express and they used it to duplicate their works and they have been using it before 1900s. Currently, it is popular both in the commercial printing and fine arts industry. It is commonly used print images on the T-shirts, CDs, DVDs, hats, glass, ceramics, polyethylene, paper, polypropylene, wood and metals.

The first industrial screen printing process was patented in 1907 and many years later, John Pilsworth of San Francisco introduced the multi-color printing using the same screen. In this, the different screen areas were blocked for different color inks and a multi-colored image was produced. This technique is popular in printing signs and posters.

The Corporate have well utilized this option and have started giving their employees and clients corporate gifts that are screen printed with different ideas and also corporate logos. This is a good way in which the corporate can increase their presence. The Corporate gifts are usually given once or twice to the employees. The screen printed corporate gifts are like t-shirts made in different sizes and styles keeping in mind the different employees. The corporate gifts can also be in form of mugs, beer and wine glasses, and many corporate give their best employees fully paid vacations.

Screen Printing

by Raymond Sung on Sep.05, 2009, under Advertising

Screen printing is a printing process that makes use of a woven mesh to hold an ink-blocking stencil. The attached stencil outlines the open areas of the mesh that transfer ink in the form of a sharp-edged image on the surface that is to be printed and this surface is called substrate. On the screen stencil, a squeegee or roller moves and pumps the ink on the open areas that are to be printed with that particular color.
