Author And Book Marketing Tips

by Naomi Jennifer on Feb.09, 2010, under Internet Marketing

Writers want their work to be read by many; it will mean that they can keep on writing for a living and not as a side-line. Starting out is always hard for any first-time writer. You do not know what to do or how best to market your work. You will probably not be able to afford a high-quality, big city P. R. Firm to do your marketing for you. You may not even have an agent. So how do you get your work known?

Some authors have realized there is a great need for information about writing books. They have therefore, cleverly, written books about how to advertise the book you have written. The tips in the books may or may not be useful, but what IS useful is how you have learned about their book in the first place. Make your own web page and fan site. No one needs to know that you do not have dedicated fans doing this for you. Write a blog. Make a funny video and put it on YouTube. Advertise on your social networking sites. Make your technology (especially free technology!) work for you.

Authors living in rural areas may actually sell more copies. It is nothing for someone from New York city to write a book and be published. Hundreds do it every week. But when you are from a small village in New England, people in your area will pay attention. You will get interviewed on local channels and by local papers. Use all of these opportunities, especially because it costs you nothing. Being a mysterious, reclusive writer should be saved for once you have actually become well-known. Then you can pick and choose your public appearances.

You must think about your own image when you promote yourself. Be a professional, above all else. Off-color or non-funny jokes will hurt your image, as well as if you dress like a slob. You also need to know just how much you should tell about your book. If you reveal the whole story, no one is going to bother reading it. Speak intelligently but do not alienate people with intellectual babble. You must be personable and just a tiny bit mysterious while still forcing yourself onto people’s radar.

Be professional, be courteous, be humble, and make your audience wonder a little. Remember that if you are in a rural area, people will say, “I remember that person from high school!” or “That’s So-and-So’s child!” They will want to see what you have accomplished because there is a definite history there.

Promote yourself as much as you can without becoming irritating. Do television commercials and put up posters. Making deals with local businesses can be a great business move. You just want your book to get out there, even if you are not making much money on it yet. It takes a while for books to pass from hand to hand and for viral advertising to happen.

Discover additional important strategy on how to implement book marketing principles to Discover lots of publicity. Enjoy the outstanding fun and success of a professional media campaign that focimplements on promoting books. You can reach your goals when you know the correct strategy to implement.

Information Marketing is a Smart and Well Planned Business in All Economys

by WA Articles on Feb.08, 2010, under Internet Marketing

Information Marketing is a Smart and Well Planned Business in Every Economy

With the economy taking a serious nosedive and not righting itself yet, of course everyone has been worried about where they are going to be employed and how they are going to earn money to provide for themselves and their family. One of the possibilities that some people fail to look into or take advantage of is information marketing. No matter what state the economy is, information marketing can be a very well thought out and smart and sound business to dive into.

Information marketing has many advantages over other kinds of businesses. The traditional business model for any kind of product depends heavily on upfront costs. You need to purchase materials to produce your product. You also then need to construct or create the product itself, store the product as inventory and then deliver the product to your customer through shipping or through a physical storefront. All of this adds up to a huge sum of costs and expenses.

Today, bank loans are harder than ever to get. This is due to all of the loans that have been defaulted on and all of the banks that have gone bankrupt. Not only are loans harder to come by now, but if you do manage to get one your rates won’t look particularly pretty.

On the other hand, if you think you can manage to get by without taking on a loan, then you are putting your own money on the line for a product before you ever get to see any returns. Additionally, the costs continue to pile up as you always have to be buying more to sell more. You can be digging yourself a whole that can be very hard to climb out of. It’s these kinds of conditions which keep the economy struggling and which keep you from pursuing your passion.

With information marketing on the other hand all of you can eliminate all of these worries. All of you don’t need to purchase any materials or manually produce a physical product. All of you don’t need to store inventory and all of you don’t need to have any system to deliver the product to customers besides a simple digital platform. In other words, nearly all of your costs are eliminated, which allows all of you to focus on something we all enjoy a bit more, the profit.

Making information marketing even more attractive is that the products you all sell with information marketing will maintain their popularity or even soar to new heights as the economy lags. Many information products are about how to make money, about transforming hobbies into income, about creating your own online or at home business and so forth. This are things that people are always interested in and particularly so during these kinds of tough economic times.

Therefore, information marketing is a well thought out and smart business model no matter what the rest of the economy is like. You all’ll see that nearly all of your costs and debts are eliminated, and your products will still have a vast potential market to work into. Information marketing can help you all succeed when other business models come up short.

Online Marketing and the Business Mindset

by Ed Hodgson on Jan.12, 2010, under Internet Marketing

Developing an abundant, successful business mindset is essential as part of your training in being able to build a profitable business online. Your business mentor, coach or training programme will cover this in detail and you should look elsewhere for your training if they don’t.

Be clear on what I am talking about here.

I am not talking about adopting a general attitude of keeping a ‘positive mental attitude’ or blind belief that something will work or is possible just because you keep repeating it to yourself.

It runs a little deeper than this but please just stick with me for a moment while I explain. You need to maintain a successful, abundant mindset.

This will work better with an example. I hate mentioning the word, but imagine you’re going for a JOB interview (I’m shuddering at the thought of that one but you may be able to relate if your still trading your time for money as an employee of a company).

Now, say there are 5 people, all with very similar experience and qualifications. Only one vacancy is available.

The candidate who walks into that interview room with the mindset that they don’t really deserve to be sat there doesn’t really stand a chance from the start.

The candidates will stand a far better chance by approaching their interview with confidence and a mindset that puts across that the job is already theirs.

To put it another way, the outcome of a situation is largely governed by your mindset and expectations of that situation.

Within the online, or internet marketing industry, you can see why so many fail at building a successful online income. Approximately only 5% of people trying to build a business online actually succeed.

The majority of people who come into the internet marketing or network marketing industry have never had any experience of running their own business before. It is an industry of business owners pursued by people who have no experience of running their own business!

This is what people forget to take in to account. Coming in to this industry and succeeding takes commitment and changing your mindset to that of building a successful business.

It is essential to develop and then maintain the correct mindset of success and abundance when building your business to ensure that you are constantly well-motivated, taking action and allowing yourself to reap the rewards of your work.

Ed Hodgson is a successful online marketer and online marketing mentor with the Turn-Key Marketing Group, an online marketing coaching club that places great importance on developing an abundant business mindset. Oh No I Don’t Want To Do It, A Procrastination Story!

by Tom Binns on Nov.24, 2009, under Internet Marketing

Have you done it before; say oh I’ll do that later. Or maybe even I don’t want to do it now; I can finish it before it’s due? Those are forms of procrastination, and they are something that you need to try and break yourself out of.

It’s a problem that many people will do; it’s quite easy to do at times. But when you know that it’s due by a certain time, you need to work on it and get it done quickly. That way if needed you have time to make corrections.

Why do people procrastinate? Because in many cases they just don’t want to do what is needed? No not really, but it’s a problem that some people have gotten down to a science. One that they live each day of their life doing.

Don’t let procrastination be something that you do all the time. Make yourself work on that project that you just don’t want to do. Placing it as a must do, and making sure that you sit down and do it. Not just say that you’re going to either.

Try and make yourself do things that you know have to be done, no matter how long you have. Sit down and just do it, don’t let it go on. See if you can find anything that will help you procrastinate less on things.

Why take the chance of upsetting a boss by putting that project off for too long? They may come to you for an update; you can lie and say you have some of it done. But what if they ask to see it and you don’t have anything to show them?

In closing, make that list and use it, focus on finishing so many of the red listed items each day. Don’t forget it’s okay to have fun once in a while though.

Seven Steps To Beat Anxiety

by Tom Binns on Nov.19, 2009, under Advertising

Anxiety is now a very common problem. There are many causes and reasons, and it can be a serious problem that affects the standard of our lives. People of all ages and nationalities can suffer with it. If you feel like you are one of these people then you only have two options. You can either let the anxiety take over your life leading to nonstop stress and worry or you can take steps to overcome it and get control back. There are seven useful tips that can help you to beat the problem -

1. Try to control your thoughts at all times. You should not allow your mind to get full of negative thoughts, they achieve nothing. There are always positive aspects to everyone’s life; these are what you should be thinking about.

2. Try to stop yourself from having quick emotional reactions to situations. Learn to stay calm, composed, and practice self-discipline.

3. When you are laying in bed at night do your best to think of happy things. Often anxiety can take over when we are in bed trying to sleep. Use this time to remember a funny movie or story.

4. When you get up in the morning, say to yourself that it will be a good day. It is often the case that by having a positive outlook good things will actually happen to you.

5. Keep yourself busy throughout the day. Usually we become anxious when we are idle. Start and end the day with activities that you enjoy doing. Also, even carrying out household chores can keep your mind off worrying. Usually when we are watching TV or browsing the net our minds do not wander so much.

6. It often helps to talk about our anxieties with a good friend. They will be able to see everything from another perspective and help to reassure us.

7. If there is an activity that you have always wanted to do, but never been able, then create a plan that works towards it.
